Introduction to Beyond War: A New Way of Thinking

One group wrote back near midnight:

We had a good time tonight. Talked about it all the way home and we're still sitting her talking about it.

What caught my attention:

People commented that most people we know already think this way, but I don't believe they think it strongly enough. People think war is 'stupid' or 'wrong' but to say it is obsolete is really powerful. Also the emphasis on practising this in small ways in one's own life is important.

What we practice becomes part of it and we pass it on.

  • I loved how optimistic your talk ultimately was.
  • Hearing about the Ministry of Peace in the US
  • The Iceberg Model, being visual stood out
  • Nice to have integration of global events and successes, not all doom and gloom
  • The presentation is well presented and put together.
  • Individual power.
  • Simplicity of golden rule approach.

  • The astronaut's comments.

Your bb's demonstration on the amount of nuclear arsenal in the West.

Your enthusiasm, sincereity and desire to help change things - and knowing that there are lots more youth like you.

What was new:

  • The Muslim/ Israeli town near Jerusalem ( that works through their conflict)
  • The means is the ends in the making.
  • Great script/ quotes.
  • I like ‘ the means are the ends in the making’
  • Peace is a possibility
